What do you want me to do for you? Matthew 20:32. This is the question that we are asked today and the author suggest that we are just as spiritually blind as the blind men were physically, if we can't answer this question. The author states that if we can't answer this question specifically, then, "stop reading, get in God's presence, and get an answer!" This is deep.
I must admit that this is my second time reading this book and I think this is one of the most powerful chapters. The first time, I stopped and checked my request and noticed that I wasn't specific enough. Here again, I am faced with the same challenge. Be specific Miyoshi! That question seems so simple but it isn't easy to answer. What do I want Jesus to do for me? Really-what do I want specifically?
I don't know why it is so difficult to just ask for what we want. I mean, it is the hardest thing sometimes to formulate a question to our Father. Are we afraid that He won't answer? Well, He said if we ask, it SHALL be given, Matthew 7:7. Do we think it's too big? Well, He said that with men it may be impossible but with Him NOTHING is impossible, Luke 1:37. Do we think we're undeserving? Well, He said it was His pleasure to give us the kingdom, Luke 12:32. We are without excuse! We serve a God who is strong and mighty! He can do anything. He is waiting for us to be specific and tell Him what we want so He can show us how much He loves us by answering our request! Thank you Jesus!!!
Why is this day so important in our challenge? when we began this challenge, we were to begin with circling what we wanted God to do. Now we are almost at the end of the challenge and the author is telling us to check our circles again. Do we actually have a Jericho- a specific wall that needs to come down? What are we circling? It can't be general. We need to identify our Jericho. I believe that God wants us to be so specific so that He can answer in such a big way so we can be happy and give Him the glory. Remember, He wants to commune with us and answer us. Ultimately, He knows your request before you ask but He wants us to ask for what we want so it can be given unto us!!!
Dear Father, help us today be more specific in our prayers. Show us where we have been too general. We bind fear in Jesus name! We know you want to answer every prayer. We trust you with our deepest hearts desire. Here is what I truly want.....(tell God now what you want specifically) I thank you Jesus that it is so! In Your name! Amen!
