John 15:7 states, if you abide in me, and my words abide in you, then you shall ask what you will and it shall be given unto you. This scripture is the perfect combination of prayer and The Word of God and how essential both are to our walk of faith. I think of John 1:1, in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God and the word WAS GOD. Wow! We learn that the word, the holy scriptures are an inspiration and they are our best way of knowing God and communing with him! If we want God to abide in us, and we want to abide in Him, let's begin not just reading The Word out of daily compliance, but let us meditate on The Word, digest The Word, hear The Word, obey The Word, mull over The Word! Let's allow ourselves time to commune with The Word with the understanding that I am spending some time digesting My Father!!! That's awesome!! And, the outcome of this perfect fellowship is answered prayer!!! Isn't that amazing? Our Father will give us what we ask for, all He is asking for is time with us! He wants to be with us!! That's so wonderful to me!! Father God, we thank you for giving us another opportunity to hear you today. We want to spend time with you in the word. Give us the will to not just read your word but to spend time with your word meditating and learning. We thank you for Your guidance and Your love for us. You are amazing God! In Jesus name we pray. Amen! Enjoy your day!

Day 30 Abide in Me When I was in junior high and learning to play the trumpet, one of the first real songs that I learned was “Abide in Me.” I remember my band instructor instructing me play it so the notes were long and drawn out. I remember too, that it was a way to teach me to sustain my breath, and really hear and think about the tone, as well as, the notes. Today’s reading reminds me that abiding is not something that we can do or learn quickly. Yes, I have “our prayer time” but, maybe, just maybe I am scheduling God instead of abiding in Him.
I love the illustration of eating the honey from the tablet. I am learning that His Word is sweet going into my mouth, and sweet coming out of my mouth. I am a sweeter, more loving person when I eat His Word, let it marinate in me, and when I open my mouth I am more apt share it.
One of today's goals: Abiding in the Vine by letting His Word abide in me.
