"I will place a wool fleece on the threshing floor." Judges 6:37
Gideon heard God's voice, God called him to be a judge. However, because he was looking at himself, judging himself by his appearance and his "rank," he hesitated and asked God for confirmation. He asked for the fleece to be wet, and he asked for the fleece to be dry. We are urged to be cautious is putting out fleece. Yes, there are times when it may be appropriate, but if we make this a factor in following God or making a God-given decision, we dimension Him and dimension our ability to hear His voice, and we chip away in our promptness to be move and obey Him.
As we spend time with God, He reminds us, what Mark Batterson reminds us: Romans 8:31, "If God is for us, who can be against us?" This is a truth we have to know, and know that we know. This is a point where many of us have stumbled. Often it is because our focus is in the wrong direction. Our eyes may be on people, instead of on God.
George Miller settled in his heart that God is his source in every need, He asked God for everything; and God supplied it above and beyond all he or even we may ask, hope, or think. He raised around 150 million dollars without the benefit of a telethon, Go Fund It, an email blast, or mail flyers. Over 10 thousand orphans were impacted. Now think also about the impact the 10 thousand had on other children. Truly amazing.
An important key to Kingdom productivity is to work really hard, but don't rest in or trust that. Our rest and trust is in the Lord. He says over and over: I will bless you. O to have ten thousand tongues. . . If He never does another thing for me. . .
Question? Don't seek answers. Seek God.
When God gives a vision, He always makes provision.
